Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., announced today that it plans to determine recent data centers overseas. The recent locations, to be positioned in Jakarta and Mumbai, were expected to be ready by the top of the corporate’s fiscal 12 months ending March 31, 2018. This would expand Alibaba Cloud’s data center footprint to 17 locations world wide, including Singapore, Japan and Australia and Germany and the domestic Chinese market.
The Chinese technology conglomerate expects to open two recent data centers in the present fiscal 12 months, which ends on March 31, 2018.
Alibaba Cloud currently has 15 data center locations, covering mainland China, Australia, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
The recent locations in Indonesia and India will provide a “full suite” of cloud services, in line with Alibaba, which added that it can be the primary global cloud service provider to determine a global cloud data center in Indonesia. The launch can be according to the Indonesian government’s “1,000 Start-ups Movement” program to support 1,000 firms by 2020, with the goal of reaching a complete valuation of $10 billion, Alibaba says.
