Here are the Asian countries which are winning the US-China trade war

As trade tensions between the United States and China rise, there might be some short-term but wide-ranging disruption across Asia – but in the long run, other regional players will profit, said Nick Marro of The Economist Intelligence Unit.

Supply chains in Asia are “incredibly integrated,” Marro, an analyst on the research firm, told CNBC on Thursday.

“As a result of the trade war, in the short term we expect fairly widespread regional disruptions.”

Marro identified three foremost industries he saw as “battlegrounds” within the trade war: technology, automotive and agriculture.

Marro said countries reminiscent of Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand could see long-term advantages in certain sectors, including the data and communications technology (ICT) sector, in addition to the automotive sector.
