The recent transport terminal, which is scheduled to open in two weeks, is believed to ease traffic congestion in Manila in keeping with a recent study costs the Philippines $3.5 billion a day.
The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), which can be inaugurated by President Rodrigo Duterte and other senior officials on November 5, is predicted to scale back the variety of provincial buses plying in metro Manila, particularly along Taft Avenue-Pasay, EDSA, Department of Transportation ( DOTr) – he said.
The opening of PITX would facilitate “movement from provincial bus terminals in Metro Manila,” which might impact traffic congestion, Col. Edison Nebrija, commander of the Metro Manila Development Authority Special Task Force for Operations, told CNN Philippines.
“It will certainly help us reduce the burden on the metropolis [All the] the provincial terminal will be available in EDSA,” Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokeswoman Celine Pialago told CNN Philippines.

According to DOTr, PITX can handle as much as 100,000 passengers per day, and through peak hours it handles 4,380 arrivals and three,808 departures. It is predicted to handle roughly 1,060 arrivals and 949 departures.
The $3.5 billion three-story terminal is situated along Coastal Road and houses a departure bay for buses, jeepneys and taxis on the bottom floor, a bus arrivals bay on the second floor, and parking spaces, AUV bays and a connection to the proposed LRT-1 expansion project on third floor. There can even be five floors of office space for rent.

The Department of Transportation says it’s the primary integrated and multimodal terminal in southwestern metro Manila, which might function a transportation hub for provincial buses from Cavite and Batangas and for urban transportation.
“World-class land port”
PITX, called a “land port” by the DOTr, includes waiting areas, free Wi-Fi access, drinking water stations, traveler work areas, charging points, lockers and telephone booths.

It also has a centralized shopping mall that gives passengers a big selection of retail stores, groceries and supermarkets. There are also parking facilities and maintenance areas where minor vehicle repairs may be carried out.
DOTr says health and wellness facilities are also ready, including childcare rooms, breastfeeding stations, a clinic, a prayer room, a pay-as-you-go lounge, restrooms, and senior- and disabled-friendly amenities.
The PITX facility is monitored 24 hours a day via closed-circuit television and likewise has a 24-hour feedback center.
