The Indonesian company J&T Express acquires land in Malaysia for a logistics center

As demand for products increases within the e-commerce industry, logistics corporations are establishing integrated logistics centers around the globe to make sure they will keep pace.

The e-commerce market in Southeast Asia is one in all the most important on the earth, and its expected value by 2030 will likely be USD 1 trillion. The 30-hectare site in Selangor is planned to be equipped with modern technology that can enable the international express logistics company to fulfill the growing demands of the growing e-commerce industry within the Southeast Asian region.

We remain focused on strengthening our leadership position in Southeast Asia by increasing our presence in existing areas.”

According to Roy Zeng, CEO of J&T Express Malaysia, this 12 months marks the fifth 12 months since J&T Express Malaysia commenced operations. He added that the corporate decided to speculate RM600 million to amass a plot of land and establish a logistics center in Malaysia resulting from its diverse expansion and robust momentum from the continual growth of the regional market.

“In this way, we intend to stimulate the development of the local economy, create jobs for the community, and take an active part in the development of the local logistics industry and the long-term development of the city,” Zeng explained.

J&T Express’ dedicated express network currently covers twelve countries, including China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

J&T Express, which has greater than two billion subscribers, has also expanded into Latin America, especially Brazil and Mexico. The logistics player already plays a big role on this region of the world and should expand its services to other Latin American countries in the longer term.

The integrated logistics center planned in Malaysia will allow them to turn into a serious service provider within the region for now. Although J&T focuses solely on logistics, they’ve many e-commerce partners who use their services throughout the region.

In addition to J&T Express, Alibaba established a regional logistics center in Malaysia in 2017 to serve small and medium-sized enterprises within the country.
