The Lebak district in Banten Province may sound recent to your ears. But the excellent news is that the Lebak administration in Banten province will develop 29 tourist destinations by 2019 to draw more domestic and foreign tourists. Head of the Lebak Development and Economic Planning Department on the Regional Development and Economic Planning Department of the Regional Development Planning Agency, Imam Hidayat, admits that there are various attractive tourist facilities in Lebak that must be developed to enhance local economic growth and support “Lebak Sejahtera”.
The tourist facilities that will likely be developed include roughly 29 tourist facilities. These include trips along the coastal areas, traditional and cultural trips to Baduy and Kaolatan, hot springs and rafting. One of the beaches that will likely be further developed is Sawarna Beach. Sawarna Beach spoils its guests with browsing. Moreover, the situation of the beach facing the Indian Ocean makes the beach look nicer than ever.

In addition, Baduy’s unique culture can also be suitable for tourism purposes. Baduy culture originates from Baduy communities that refused to adopt modern lifestyles and adapt to traditional customs. They inhabit a forest area of roughly 5,100 hectares and haven’t any paved roads or electricity. Baduy communities must wear white clothes and refuse to make use of any modern vehicles and even public transport to get out of their area. The Imam said: “There are so many anthropologists all over the world who come to Baduy to conduct research and study.”
