According to the case files from May 9, corporations, including SRC International Sdn Bhd, are demanding that Rosmah Mansor surrender her luxury goods and pay USD 346 million, the quantity determined by the court.
Funds from six of the 11 plaintiffs were transferred through various offshore entities “before being paid to 48 different sellers from no less than 14 jurisdictions” for luxury goods purchases, based on the filing. Various offshore entities include the remaining five plaintiffs.
About 320 payments were made totaling greater than $346 million, they said, adding that luxury goods included hundreds of pieces of knickknack, watches and purses.
The case records show that Shabnam Naraindas Daswani has been named because the second accused. The latter allegedly ordered luxury goods on Rosmah’s behalf.
The Edge newspaper cites Rosmah’s lawyers who claim that they’ve not received the lawsuit, but only a replica of the lawsuit.
Shortly after his fall, police confiscated items price about 1.1 billion ringgit ($232 million) in raids linked to the previous leader and his wife. He and Rosmah have denied any wrongdoing but still face multiple criminal charges related to the troubled sovereign fund.
