North Bali International Airport (Indonesian: North Bali International Airport; commonly abbreviated as “NBIA” (some might also call it Bali Buleleng Airport) is a proposed airport on the island of Bali, Indonesia, situated in Kubutambahan, Kabupaten, Buleleng.
This is a project initiated by the Governor of Bali Made Mangku Pastika on July 9, 2015.

According to Luhut’s calculations, he said in Jakarta on April 3, constructing a brand new airport in northern Bali was cheaper than expanding I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport within the provincial capital, especially due to high price of land in Denpasar.
“To expand the second runway at Denpasar, we needed almost 27 trillion rupiah ($1.89 trillion), with an expected annual capacity increase of only 10 million,” Luhut said.
The construction of a brand new airport in northern Bali will cost 6.3 trillion rupiah. “If the calculations are correct, we could still build a 7.5-kilometer toll road connecting north and south Bali [with the remaining funds]” he said, adding that the North Bali airport project also had the support of President Joko Widodo.
The president said that the development of the brand new airport would improve the well-being of the people of northern Bali.

5. August 2017: Bali Buleleng Airport Authority, PT Bandara International Bali Utara (BIBU), plans to start construction of the proposed airport on August 28, 2017. BIBU submitted all regulatory documents to the federal government in July 2017 and expects to receive development approval soon.
6. June 2017: Bali Vice President Ketut Sudikerta stated that the council has received two EoIs for the event of the proposed Bali Buleleng Airport. The government hopes that each parties can cooperate and work on the project, with Sudikerta saying each corporations are willing to start out construction before the top of 2017.
