According to STR Global’s hotel supply development research, Jakarta ranked third within the Asia-Pacific region when it comes to hotel development.

Demand for accommodation within the capital stays stable, and occupancy stays at 75%.
Number one within the region is the Japanese capital Tokyo with 15,877 recent rooms, a rise of roughly 13.6%. Shanghai, China, got here in second place with 8,826 recent rooms.
“Jakarta is followed by Chengdu and Guangzhou, each with 6,376 and 6,028 rooms,” STR Global said in an announcement.
STR Global also saw its Asia-Pacific hotel count increase by 343,315 rooms across 1,534 hotels across the region.
Meanwhile, the variety of hotels still in the ultimate planning stages stands at 61,991, with a further 1,236 rooms still within the early planning stages.
