Four Indonesian beaches were featured among the many 50 hottest beaches within the Asia-Pacific region on Instagram, with one even making it to the highest 15.
Australian travel site Globe hunters compiled an inventory of the 50 best Instagrammable beaches within the region.
According to the web site, listed below are 4 local beaches that qualified for this stage compass.com.
1. Dreamland Beach in Bali
Dreamland Beach, positioned in Pecatu in Badung on Bali’s resort island, ranked thirteenth on the list with greater than 55,000 photos uploaded to Instagram.
The white beach is nineteen kilometers from Ngurah Rai International Airport or roughly 45 minutes’ drive from the Balinese transport hub.
Located on the southern tip of the island, Dreamland is popular with surf enthusiasts, and its waves attract each experienced and skilled surfers.
2. Virgin Beach in Bali
Also in Bali, Virgin Beach is positioned on the opposite end of the island, north, in Karangasem.
Beach is ranked seventeenth with over 39,000 videos uploaded.
Virgin Beach, positioned to the north, is a brief drive from the airport to the south. Travelers arriving by plane must travel an additional 73 kilometers to achieve the beach, which takes roughly two hours’ drive.
Located away from the island’s hottest spots, Virgin Beach is a comparatively quiet stretch, making it a pleasant place to chill out. However, swimmers must be careful of rough waves.
3. Ora Beach, Maluku Islands
Ora Beach is positioned on Seram Island within the Maluku Province. The beach, with a shocking backdrop of mountains and crystal clear waters, ranks twenty second on the list, amassing over 27,000 posts on Instagram.
Beachside resorts offer overwater bungalows where guests can benefit from the sea and the encompassing coral reefs.
Visitors can even snorkel to get a glimpse of the underwater seascape.
4. Derawan Islands
The Derawan Islands in East Kalimantan are ranked thirty second on Globehunter’s list.
The small island chain consists of the islands of Derawan, Sangalaki, Kakaban, Maratua, Panjang and Samama, in addition to islets and underwater reefs.
The Derawan Islands offer loads of marine attractions, including snorkeling and diving, in addition to marine life including turtles, dolphins and manta rays.
On Kakaban Island, visitors can even take a dip in a lake filled with stingless jellyfish. (liz/wng)
