According to Malay-language newspaper Sinar Harian, state legislative assembly member Razali Idris said the middle has been asked to offer clarification on the matter, which has been going viral on social media since Tuesday.
The Terengganu Department of Islamic Religious Affairs and the Kuala Terengganu City Council may also attend the meeting.
“We will investigate this matter first. If we find violations of the regulations or any laws, we will take appropriate action.
“We will carefully review the private resort’s response before taking any action,” Razali, who’s in control of the tourism, culture, environment and climate change portfolio, said on Tuesday.
He also appealed to the general public to offer the authorities with any information on the matter.
“If there is evidence that it violates regulations or if Muslims are involved in the party, it can be reported to the religious office for further investigation,” he said.
On Tuesday, posters and photos showing women wearing swimsuits at an event allegedly held on the island went viral.
