Business and top notch may get essentially the most attention, but economy class is undoubtedly the product that matters most to consumers. After all, that is where the overwhelming majority of pilots will spend their time. Correct execution also requires the best precision.
It may be very difficult for airlines to spoil first or business class enough to make passengers unhappy. However, in economy class, where there may be less space and few details to diversify the experience, the road between comfort and extreme poverty may be very narrow.
Every yr, leading online consumer portal Skytrax compiles a listing of the highest-rated economy class deals. According to Skytrax, the Best Economy Airline award is “an accolade that reflects passenger satisfaction with the core standards of economy class product and staff service that an airline provides each within the cabin and on the airport.”
Skytrax rankings are based on the impressions of 19.87 million travelers from 105 countries. The survey, which covered over 320 airlines, measured 49 parameters, from boarding procedures, through seat comfort, to service quality.
Thai Airways won the award for best economy class catering, followed by Turkish Airlines, Asiana, Qatar and Japan Airlines. The top ten was accomplished by Singapore, Austria, Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and EVA Air.
