Southeast Asian countries will receive medical supplies from Jack Ma and the Alibaba Foundation

The Jack Ma Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation will expand their philanthropic efforts through the global coronavirus crisis by donating medical supplies to a different 10 countries in Asia, in line with an announcement Saturday. Shore market AND Alizilla reported.

The statement shows that the foundations managed to contact the governments of 4 Southeast Asian countries and offer to donate medical supplies.

“We and the Alibaba Foundation will send two million masks, 150,000 test kits, 20,000 protective suits and 20,000 face shields to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. More help is coming for other Asian nations! Go to Asia!” – encourages the Jack Ma Foundation.

Recently, this has been reported by, amongst others, Forbes that the governments of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, the Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will receive 1.8 million masks, 210,000 Covid-19 test kits and 36,000 pieces of protective clothing, in addition to ventilators and thermometers on the brow.

Some of the donated materials will probably be sent through the Electronic World Trade Platform center in Malaysia. as first foreign base for eWTP – an initiative led by Alibaba that goals to make global trade more inclusive – the hub in Malaysia will facilitate cross-border logistics to make sure the delivery of medical supplies to countries in need.

The foundation’s goal is to assist fight the Covid-19 virus in these countries and, in the long run, provide further support to other neighboring countries.

Ma, who’s price $38.9 billion on Forbes’ Real Time Billionaires List, stepped down as CEO of the Chinese e-commerce giant in September to deal with philanthropy, in line with Forbes.
