Philippine flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL)’s position on this planet’s top 100 airlines has improved to 67th place. The airline can be recognized as one among the ten most improved airlines on this planet, one among the award categories in the distinguished Skytrax World Airline Awards.
According to the World Airline Awards website, the award “reflects the airline’s quality improvement across the Airline Awards program. It analyzes an airline’s change in global rating and improvement in its performance across multiple award categories (e.g. airport operations, cabin staff, catering, IFE, etc.) to discover the largest improvements over the past 12 months.
Together with PAL, the Spanish flag carrier of Iberia, Hainan Airlines, a five-star airline in China, the European low-cost carrier Ryanair, Ethiopian Airlines, the flag carrier of Ethiopia, Fiji Airways, the flag carrier of Fiji, Germany’s Lufthansa, one among the most important airlines on this planet, China Airlines , Taiwan’s flag carrier, and Hong Kong Airlines were also recognized as among the many world’s most improved airlines.
In 2016, PAL was ranked 83rd. PAL is the oldest existing airline in Asia, founded in 1941.
According to the Skytrax World Airline Awards website, this yr’s World Airline Awards gala took place on June 20 in the course of the Paris Air Show. The results were published after voting by airline customers all over the world.
“This is the fourth time that Skytrax has hosted the awards ceremony at the Paris Air Show, and the organizers of the Air Show (GIFAS) have provided the wonderful Air and Space Museum as the venue,” reads a post on the web site.
“The Paris Air Show is the most famous and prestigious aviation event in the world, and Skytrax is honored to welcome airline executives from around the world to the awards ceremony,” he added.
The study ran from August 2016 to May 2017 and the ultimate results included 19.87 million eligible entries.
A complete of 320 airlines participated within the survey.
