Tourists from long-haul markets are the predominant goal of the strategy, divided into two groups. 1. Christmas Countries:This group includes Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany and France. These countries have already got a tourist market acquainted with Thailand and are expected to return before the top of the 12 months.
  2. Rising stars: This group consists of six high-potential countries: Canada, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland, Denmark and Saudi Arabia. These countries have shown a rise within the variety of tourists visiting Thailand lately and are further supported by Thailand’s visa-free policy.

TAT will work with airlines and hotels to be certain that tourists from these countries can easily extend their stay in Thailand. This effort can also be aimed toward increasing their spending during their visit.

With vigorous tourism promotion campaigns, TAT is optimistic about generating around 200 billion baht from these 11 “star” countries within the second half of 2024. This figure reflects TAT’s optimism about welcoming tourists again and reviving Thailand’s tourism sector.
