Asian countries within the World Talent 2017 rating

Globally, Europe continues to dominate the rankings, with Switzerland, Denmark and Belgium essentially the most competitive countries. Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Sweden and Luxembourg all round out the highest ten.

This is in line with the 2017 IMD World Talent Report (WTR), prepared by the International Institute of Management Development.

WTR uses international statistical data, supplemented by the Executive Opinion Survey, to evaluate the talent competitiveness of 63 economies based on their ability to develop, attract and retain talent for businesses. The rankings were based on three aspects – investment and development, attractiveness and readiness.

Leading Asian economies – Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan – have established themselves as global centres for attracting and retaining highly expert employees, although they lag behind Europe on this respect.
