According to the 2018 edition Kantar Worldpanel Brand Footprint report, Coca-Cola stays the world’s hottest FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) brand for the sixth 12 months in a row. According to the report, which measures how often consumers select a brand’s product, Coca-Cola products were chosen 5.8 billion times last 12 months, reaching greater than 40 percent of the world’s population.
There are 17 FMCG brands which are chosen by consumers greater than a billion times a 12 months world wide. Brand footprint rankings measure which brands are purchased most frequently by the best variety of consumers.
Six of the 17 brands chosen over a billion times a 12 months belong to Unilever, which leads the rating of manufacturers with 36 billion CRP (Consumer Reach Points) annually. Unilever’s portfolio includes Lifebuoy in 4t position, and Sunsilk and Knorr in the highest 10. Dove, Lux and Sunlight are also Unilever brands within the billionaires’ club. Two Pepsico brands, Lay’s and Pepsi, along with Nescafé and Indomie – a really successful Indofood brand in Asia and Africa – took the remaining positions in the highest 10. Nestlé, Downy P&G, Palmolive and Sprite are other brands that this 12 months joined the exclusive club of worldwide brands chosen by consumers greater than a billion times a 12 months.
