Photos: Inside the world’s most punctual major airport

As travelers, the airport is a component of our lives. While convenience is a necessity, punctuality is something we never wish to compromise. But while delays may be expected at many airports all over the world, Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, Indonesia is definitely not considered one of them. According to British travel analyst OAG Punctuality League Report 2016Juanda is essentially the most punctual major airport on the planet (a serious airport is a category of airports with 10-20 million departing seats per 12 months).

According to the report, Juanda boasts a powerful On-Time Performance (OTP) rate of 90.3%. The OTP rate measures the share of arriving and departing flights that departed inside quarter-hour of their scheduled arrival and departure times.

Juanda had considered one of the best OTP rankings of any airport on the planet. In the big airport category, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport got here in first with an OTP of 87.49%. Only the UK’s Birmingham Airport got here in first within the medium airport category with an OTP of 91.28%, and Newcastle Airport got here in first within the small airport category with an OTP of 90.94%.

Seasia is honored to go to the airport and was kindly given the chance to tour inside Terminal 2 and we were impressed by the hospitality of each staff we met and the efficiency of the passenger flow from the terminal entrance to departure. Juanda Airport is definitely not the most important airport nor essentially the most beautiful airport in Indonesia, nevertheless it has clearly proven to be essentially the most efficient. Before this OAG report, Juanda has won many international and national efficiency awards. It isn’t any wonder that they’re amongst the most effective airports on the planet.
