The Philippines solidifies its fame as a beauty pageant powerhouse in 2016.

The Philippines confirmed its fame as a beauty pageant powerhouse this 12 months with outstanding leads to international beauty pageants.

This 12 months, the Filipino beauty queens were led by Kylie Verzosa, who won the Miss International title, placing her sixth within the country.

Filipinos have also fared well in major international beauty pageants. Nicole Cordoves won first runner-up at Miss Grand International 2016, Nichole Manalo took third runner-up at Miss Globe 2016, and Catriona Gray placed in the highest five at Miss World 2016.

Joanna Eden placed in the highest 25 of the Miss Supranational 2016 competition, Ganiel Krishnan was named second runner-up within the Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 competition, and Janela Joy Cuaton was named first runner-up within the Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2016 competition.

The country has also won smaller pageants world wide. Elysha Dinn Rasay was named Princess of the World 2016, Christine Picardal won Miss Diamond of the World 2016, Trixia Maria Marana was crowned Miss Asia 2016, and Jeslyn Santos won the title of Miss United Contestants 2016.
