Vietnam’s tourism sector is growing 21.5% with 15.4 million international arrivals

Government strategy: from visa policy to global promotion

It is widely acknowledged that the Vietnamese government has successfully revitalized the tourism industry through a series of strategic measures. These include relaxed visa policies, extensive international promotional campaigns and large-scale national celebrations which have significantly increased visitor numbers.

In addition, local authorities have been actively developing recent tourism products and strengthening the image of Vietnam as a protected, friendly and authentic travel destination. Tourism profile: Asia leads, Europe grows dramatically

The exceptional growth in European markets could be attributed to Vietnam’s visa waiver policy introduced on August 15, 2025 for travelers from countries reminiscent of Belgium, Poland, Croatia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Switzerland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. This policy allows stays of as much as 45 days and has proven very effective in attracting large numbers of holiday makers from the region.

Ambitious goal: 25 million tourists in 2025

According to Phạm Văn Thủy, deputy director general of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the sector goals to welcome 25 million foreign visitors by the tip of the yr. To achieve this goal, Vietnam needs to draw a further 9.6 million tourists, or a mean of three.2 million visitors monthly through December.

“To attract foreign tourists, Vietnam must develop products that meet their expectations. Foreign guests coming to Vietnam are sometimes attracted by the country’s cuisine, natural landscapes, beaches and climate – all of that are the strengths of Vietnamese tourism,” he said.
