The recent Google Cloud region in Jakarta is now open

Having a region in Jakarta will help recent and existing customers in Indonesia leverage Google Cloud technologies to supply higher experiences for local users. “Google Cloud is already helping us realize our digital banking strategy, which accelerates financial inclusion and provides Indonesians with better banking services,” said Indra Utoyo, the corporate’s chief digital, IT and operations officer Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. “We currently use Apigee, Google Maps Platform APIs and Cloud Vision for development purposes. Using a hybrid approach of both cloud and on-premises, both Google and BRI make data security our top priority. The launch of the Jakarta region strengthens Google’s commitment and helps us reach customers even better.”

Developers, data analysts, and data engineers may also leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to take their projects from idea to implementation quickly and cost-effectively. To help construct a cloud-ready workforce, Google will roll out 150,000 hands-on training labs in Indonesia this 12 months. These include free access to GCP training sessions, credits and a variety of profession readiness initiatives akin to GCP Masterour Cloud OnBoard trainingand the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Digital Scholarships that help people obtain GCP certification.

Since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, Google has rolled out G Suite for Education to hundreds of faculties across Jakarta to support distant learning solutions. To help everyone benefit from the brand new ‘classroom’, we have now launched a central Google Teach from Home hub in town Tongue Indonesia, which provides information, training and tools to assist teachers teach from home. Today we also announced our commitment to work with the federal government of Indonesia to supply tens of millions of teachers and students with access to G Suite for Education across the country.
