“We have just witnessed the birth of the 8 billionth baby in the Philippines. So we waited for about two hours starting from 11 p.m. last night, and the baby was born at about 1:29 a.m., which was a normal spontaneous delivery,” Dr. Romeo Bituin, the hospital’s chief medical officer, said in a GMA News report.
According to the most recent forecasts of the United Nations (UN), the world population will reach eight billion today, November 15. The UN added that the world’s population could increase to around 8.5 billion in 2030 and 9.7 billion in 2050.
