Valued at $75 billion, headquartered in Beijing Bytedance topped the list of essentially the most successful unicorns on the planet in 2019. Bytedance, the operator of short video platform TikTok, is the parent company of China’s hottest media site, Toutiao.
After Bytedance, Uber ($72 billion), Didi Chuxing ($65 billion), WeWork ($47 billion) and JUUL Labs ($38 billion) were among the many top five most respected private firms on the list, covering areas akin to media, transportation , hardware and e-commerce.
