Singapore currently has probably the most powerful passport on the planet

This is 159 out of a complete of 195 countries worldwide. Impressive.

The Passport Index assesses the strength of passports by assigning each country a “visa-free rating” based on the number of nations a passport holder can visit with out a visa or with a visa on arrival.

It was developed by Arton Capital, a worldwide financial advisory firm specializing in residency and citizenship investor programs world wide.

According to Arton Capital Singapore managing director Philippe May, “for the primary time in history, an Asian country has probably the most powerful passport on the planet,” Business Times reported.

Historically, European countries have occupied the highest places within the rankings, and for the last two years Germany has been the leader.

It currently ranks second with a rating of 158 visa-free travel.

Yes, it’s a tricky fight.

May adds that Singapore’s rise in popularity is a “testament” to its “inclusive diplomatic relations and effective foreign policy.”

But while Singapore could have climbed the rankings, likely because of strong diplomatic relations and foreign policy, the United States has struggled since President Donald Trump took office.

Countries akin to Türkiye and the Central African Republic have recently withdrawn their visa-free status for US passport holders.

The United States currently ranks sixth with a visa-free travel rating of 154 – tied with Malaysia, Ireland and Canada.
