Rius said he received a call from police regarding the mail.

“We were reported for defamation. “I’m sure you know I had no intention of defaming anyone,” he said on Instagram.

“I hope you can support me because I don’t want anyone to be prosecuted for honest review and constructive criticism.”

Garuda stated that the handwritten menu was prepared by the cabin crew member for personal use and was not intended to be distributed to passengers.

Police confirmed that Garuda had filed a defamation case against Rius.

Garuda faced more criticism on Tuesday after a circular was posted on social media instructing cabin crew to forbid passengers from taking photos and videos in the air.

The airline later clarified that the directive had been withdrawn, but said passengers were advised to respect other people’s privacy and not to take photos of them.

“Passengers may take photos for personal use, such as selfies, as long as it does not disturb other passengers,” company spokesman Ikhsan Rosan said in a press release.
