Discover the busiest airports, airlines and flight routes in Southeast Asia, February 2023

Using information from OAG’s Schedules Analyser, find flight data and evaluation for the Southeast Asian aviation market below. Information is updated monthly. Outbound (one-way) seats are used to calculate seats.

AVERAGE AIRLINE CAPACITY (DOMESTIC + INTERNATIONAL)

– With 31.2 million tickets available, Southeast Asia’s overall capability in February 2023 remains to be 22% below 2019.
– While domestic production capability is barely 14% lower than in 2019, international capability is 34% lower. Domestic production capability is closest to recovery.
– Although in response to most important statistics the variety of international flights in February was lower than in January, this was attributable to the less days in February. If we take this difference into consideration, foreign airline capability increased by 2% month-on-month.

NUMBER OF PLACES BY COUNTRY

– Vietnam, with a production capability of 5.5 million this month, up 7% from February 2019, stays the one market in Southeast Asia to exceed 2019 levels.
-The next closest is the Philippines, where airline capability is currently at 91% of February 2019.

TOP 10 NATIONAL ROUTE

– The success of this month’s top 10 busiest routes is inconsistent. Four of the highest ten increase from month to month if we take into consideration the various variety of days in every month. Vietnam’s two busiest internal routes – Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City – are two of those expanding.
– Manila to Catclan (Borocay) saw an 11% increase in capability this month on a day-wise basis, making this route the fastest growth in comparison with last month.

TOP 10 INTERNATIONAL TOURS

– Six of the ten most significant international routes in Southeast Asia start or end in Singapore.
– Kuala Lumpur-Singapore stays the biggest center despite reducing capability to 350,640 this month.

AIRPORTS IN THE TOP 10 IN terms of total variety of seats

– The distance between Singapore and Jakarta, the following largest airport in Southeast Asia, is decreasing.
– CGK had 307,000 chairs last month, 11% greater than Singapore. The difference between these two major hubs this month is just 170,000 seats.
– Ho Chi Minh City, Manila and Kuala Lumpur have between 2 and a couple of.1 million seats this month.

RANKING OF THE 10 AIRPORTS BY INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS FOR THE FASTEST GROWTH

– Some of the realm’s smallest airports experienced the fastest growth this month.
– U-Tapao, Krabi and Chiang Mai saw growth of a minimum of 15% month-on-month.
– Yogyakarta and Banda Aceh, two small airports in Indonesia, recorded growth this month.

RANK 10 SEAT-BASED AIRLINES

– Many of the highest 10 carriers have exceeded their 2019 capability rating. This situation also applies to Batik Aviation, Vietjet and Vietnam Airlines.
– With capability at 125% of 2019 levels, Batik Aviation is in a full recovery phase. AirAsia is the airline serving the bottom percentage (62% as of February 2019).

AIRLINES IN 10TH PLACE IN terms of ADDED SEATS

– MY Airlines, a brand new low-cost airline from Malaysia, added probably the most seats this month – 141,000, matching the flight schedule to Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Kuching.
– Other airlines that added capability this month were mainly Chinese and non-Chinese airlines, equivalent to Spring Airlines, China Southern and Xiamen Airlines.
