Manila was named “essentially the most loving capital on this planet” in response to a study that examined how often people use emotional expressions online.
The crossword solver combed through a sample of geotagged tweets from cities around the globe, searching for mentions of “I really like you” and its variations equivalent to “I really like you” and “3 u,” in addition to heart emojis.
Researchers in Manila found that out of each 100,000 tweets, 1,246 were expressions of feeling. Mexico City ranked ninth, followed by Guatemala, Guatemala (1,224), Luanda, Angola (1,180), Jakarta (974) and Guatemala, Guatemala (948).
The study noted that younger generations are more honest online and that “love is the premise of most families,” adding that each family and clan are considered very vital in Filipino society.
The concept of hugot (a Filipino word meaning showing deep emotion) is spread amongst friends, family and romantic partners through touching quotes, music and films, and younger generations aren’t any exception.
