At https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living, Forbes calculated the common cost of a meal out, the common cost of domestic beer, the common cost of monthly public transport tickets and the common cost of a bottle of water. The variety of tourist attractions, Internet speed and the variety of nightclubs were also recorded.
The best cities received 40 points, while the bottom ones received only one point. It was applied to all 12 measures, yielding a maximum achievable rating of 480.
