A four-legged robot built by an American company Boston dynamics patrolled Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park to remind people protected distancing measures from Friday (May 8), Times of the Strait reported.
The robot, called Spot, helped maintain a protected distance in parks, gardens and nature reserves managed by the National Parks Board (NParks) and in parks managed by city councils.
The pilot trial is being conducted jointly by NParks and the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group (SNDGG).
Robot Spot will emit a recorded message reminding park visitors to maintain a protected distance.
“Let’s keep Singapore healthy,” a yellow and black robodog named Spot said in English as he walked across the neighborhood. “For your personal safety and that of those around you, please maintain a distance of not less than one meter. Thank you,” he added in a soft, feminine voice.
Despite these subtleties, violating Singapore’s strict isolation rules may end up in hefty fines and even imprisonment.
Under lockdown enforcement rules in effect until June 1, residents can only leave their homes for essential trips, akin to grocery shopping, and must wear a mask in any respect times in public places. Outdoor exercise is allowed, but ought to be done alone.
According to Business expertone other robot, often known as O-R3 in the form of a small automobile, has been implemented at Bedok Reservoir Park by national water agency PUB as a form of protected distancing ambassador. He warned guests “to not loiter” and that “gatherings are prohibited.”

In addition to broadcasting messages reminding visitors to keep up social distancing, the Spot is provided with cameras and analytical tools to estimate the number of individuals within the park.
Authorities said the cameras wouldn’t have the opportunity to trace people or record personal information.
The spot was recently tested for temporary use hospital providing medicines to patients.
