Semarang, a city in Central Java known for acculturating Javanese and Chinese cultures, has been recognized because the purest tourist destination in Southeast Asia.
The ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard (ACTCS) has awarded Semarang the title for 2020-2022.
On Thursday, Semarang City Secretary Iswar Aminuddin received the award on behalf of Mayor Hendrar Prihadi in Brunei Darussalam.
Hendrar said the town owes credit to numerous parties for this achievement, including members of the general public.
“Stakeholders, Semarang administration, members of the general public and media [played a role]- he said Jakarta Post Office on Sunday on the sidelines of an event in Semarang.
“Everyone committed to changing Semarang for the better.”
According to the top of the Indriyasari Culture and Tourism Agency, the award will encourage a giant leap within the tourism sector in Semarang. “In 2019, the goal of seven.2 million tourists was achieved. We hope that this award will encourage more tourists to go to Semarang,” Indriyasa said in his written statement, as reported by the web site Compass.
At the time of writing, there have been 259 parks and green spaces in Semarang, each private and public. In 2018, roughly 29 parks were revitalized. Moreover, last yr the administration also managed three latest park projects.
In an effort to enhance the standard of tourism services, the local administration announced that 72 tourism events are in preparation. Two such events, the Sam Poo Parade (a conventional Chinese carnival commemorating the arrival of Admiral Cheng Ho in Semarang) and the Old Town Festival, have been included on this yr’s event calendar of the Ministry of Tourism.
