President Donald Trump will hold a two-day summit in Vietnam on February 27-28 with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to try to influence him to desert his nuclear weapons program.
The statement was included in Trump’s prepared remarks that the White House released during his Tuesday evening State of the Union address.
Trump said his contact with Kim and their first meeting last June in Singapore paved the method to peace. However, there isn’t a specific plan to implement denuclearization yet.
US intelligence chiefs imagine that the likelihood that Kim will voluntarily hand over his nuclear weapons or missiles able to carrying them is low. Private analysts reviewing business satellite images have assessed that despite the suspension of tests, the North continues to develop nuclear and missile technology.
