After India, which exported 21.9 million tonnes of rice in 2017, Thailand was the world’s second largest rice exporter in 2017.
With exports of 6.31 million kilograms of rice, Vietnam was in third place.
Last 12 months, Iraq purchased 1.6 million tons of Thai paddy rice, up 458% from the previous 12 months. China imported 750,000 tonnes, South Africa 775,000 tonnes (down 2.26%) and South Africa got here third.
The Department of Foreign Trade revealed that Thailand exported 11.1 million tonnes of tapioca products price $4.4 billion last 12 months, the best amount in 15 years.
According to Mr Ronnarong, the department and 4 organizations involved within the tapioca industry have decided to set the export goal for tapioca products this 12 months at 9 million tonnes as the entire tapioca production for 2022.
He added that attributable to cassava mosaic disease and floods that occurred within the second half of last 12 months, the forecast decreased from 34.9 million tonnes within the previous forecast.
