Peace Prize for Moon, Kim of the Indonesian community

The Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) has awarded the “Courage for Peace” award to North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in for his or her initiative to attain peace on the Korean Peninsula.

“FPCI strongly emphasizes the peace process on the Korean Peninsula. That is why we’re joyful to award this ‘Courage for Peace’ award, said FPCI founder Dinno Patti Djalal on the opening ceremony of the community’s annual conference, the Conference of Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP). 2018, in Jakarta on Saturday.

The award, which was presented to the ambassadors of North Korea and South Korea to Indonesia, An Kwan-il and Kim Chang-beom, respectively, was presented amidst exuberant applause and cheers from conference participants. They cheered because the two envoys showed signs of solidarity by raising their joined hands within the air.

“It is an important honor to receive this special award for Mr. Kim Jong-un. “I’ll make every effort at hand over this award to Supreme Mr. Kim Jong-un as soon as possible,” North Korean An said on the ceremony.

He said his leader was trying to advertise peace on the Korean Peninsula, thereby easing tensions within the region. He further expressed his appreciation to the international community, stating that with its support the peace process can proceed successfully.

South Korea’s Kim also expressed gratitude for the award, stating that the 2 Koreas can now stand together through shared pursuits. “We are here, we stand together [because we are] unites one common aspiration: striving for peace and constructing peace on the Korean Peninsula,” he said in his speech.

“Such radical change is possible thanks to the support of people here and around the world,” Kim said. “However, it is still in the early stages. I hope you will always be with us as we journey to a peaceful world.”
