The Canadian High Commission in Malaysia presented Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad with a photograph of his meeting with Justin Trudeau in 1982 on the occasion of his 93rd birthday yesterday.
Dr Mahathir posted a photograph on Twitter of 11-year-old Justin shaking hands.

Justin was there together with his father Pierre Elliot Trudeau, who was the Prime Minister of Canada on the time.
Former ministers the late Tun Ghazali Shafie and the late Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Daud also accompanied Dr Mahathir within the photo.
“A nice gift from HE @JuliaGBentley, a nostalgic photo of then Prime Minister of Canada, HE Pierre Elliot Trudeau and his son HE @justintrudeau from 1982,” the tweet read.
It was reported that Mahathir received a courtesy visit from Bentley in Putrajaya on July 3.
The vintage photo was considered a big moment when the 2 prime ministers crossed paths a few years ago.
Justin (46) was sworn in as Canada’s youngest prime minister in 2015, while Dr Mahathir is the oldest prime minister in Malaysia and the world.
