Recently, 36 young Indian classical dancers from Sri Rathakrishanan Music & Arts Center participated Suaranatya in reference to the fifteenth anniversary of the Dance Academy. The event was a record-breaking try and be entered into the Malaysian Book of Records (MBR) and the Asian Book of Records (ABR).
In recognition of this astonishing achievement, all 36 participants were awarded a spot within the Malaysian Book of Records (MBR) within the categories of ‘Longest Continuous Traditional Dance Relay’ and ‘Most Number of Women Participating in 24-Hour Barathanatyam Relay’. winning entry into the Asia Book of Records (ABR) and a distinction within the “Longest continuous traditional dance relay” category. Each participant danced in a relay, performing various devotional songs and worked a complete of 35 hours to earn pride of place within the MBR and ABR. They reportedly began dancing on May 1, 2021 (Saturday, 8:00 a.m.) and continued until the evening of May 2, 2021 (Sunday, 7:00 p.m.).
Suaranatya in collaboration with Pertubuhan Kesenian and Kebudayaan, SRFA was successfully inaugurated by guests of honor Dato Mohan and Datin Velankani on the Sri Rathakrishanan Music & Arts Center dance studio in Kota Kemuning. Mr. Theban Arumugam, Ms. Sri Devi Chandrasegaran, Ms. Shathiyah Kristian and MBR and ABR representatives Mr. Edwin Yeoh and Ms. Vibha Bhatia were also present on the event.
The principal, Mrs. Nalini Rathakris, also the mastermind Suaranatya, has a passion and impeccable dedication to Indian classical dance that has guided her teaching for 16 years. He desires to instill discipline, emphasizes good qualities and attitudes, and helps the long run generation develop leadership, communication and organizational skills that can develop great achievers and noble people for the community. This noble theme is carried out by Nalini and the dancers of this academy, a team of ambitious and determined students who work together towards a standard mission.

Participants ranged in age from 9 to 40 years old and included students, college graduates and dealing adults who worked tirelessly and fought against all odds to set these records. Even within the face of Covid-19 isolation and a worldwide pandemic, participants practiced and ready furiously.
“We strive not to acknowledge achievements but to inspire young Malaysian women to do great things. We want to promote the spirit of human excellence and make the nation proud,” Nalini said. She added that her dance academy will make a powerful attempt and intends to enter the Guinness Book of Records within the near future.
