The best airport on the earth is about to get an entire lot higher, at a staggering $1.7 billion. More than five years since plans for a grand latest airport expansion were unveiled, officials have announced that the “Jewel Changi Airport” complex will open to the general public on April 17, 2019. The 10-story complex (five above ground and five underground) will stretch over 137,000 meters square meters and connects on to Changi Airport Terminals 1, 2 and three.
The four-story Forest Valley shall be crammed with 1000’s of plants and trees creating an indoor rainforest.
The groundbreaking latest feature taking center stage is the 40-meter Rain Vortex, which shall be the tallest indoor waterfall on the earth.
The constructing will recycle as much as 10,000 gallons per minute, and at night the fountain will turn into a lightweight and sound show.
The latest lifestyle hub on the world’s best airport and popular stop for Australian travelers will feature 280 shops, including a Pokemon Centre, adding to the 350 stores already operating within the airport’s terminals.
At the very top layer above the rainforest shall be the glass-floor Canopy Bridge, a 14,000-square-foot walkway suspended 82 feet above the bottom.

There may even be Canopy Maze, featuring the biggest hedge maze in Singapore.
Other attractions include discovery slides for adults and youngsters; Foggy Bowls, where children can play in clouds of smoke; and Sky Nets, which let you bounce across treetops.
The latest development plans were designed by architect Moshe Safdie, who also designed Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and China’s latest “horizontal skyscraper”.
Anyone who desires to see the brand new Jewel development before it opens can register for advance tickets on March 12, and Business Insider reports that 500,000 tickets can be found from April 11 to April 16.
Jewel will expand the airport’s already impressive offerings, which have been named the perfect on the earth by Skytrax for six years in a row. Changi Airport is the world’s seventh busiest airport for international traffic. According to the airport’s data, in 2018, a record 65.6 million passengers passed through the 4 terminals.
