With robots already answerable for the whole lot from airport check-in and pizza delivery to dinner entertainment, they’ve stepped up to offer mechanical assistance to hotel customer support employees, and Asia’s first robot butlers have finally made their debut in two Singapore hotels.
Meet Jena and Jeno, readers!
Both Hotel Jen properties are home to Jena and Jeno, who can be stationed within the lobby in any respect hours, except once they are busy providing guests with in-room services. Both were accessorized with cute chain tuxedos characteristic pink AND turquoise colours.
The robots are roughly 1 m high and may independently move around hotel corridors and elevators and make phone calls. They move at a speed of two.5 km/h, about half the common walking speed of a human, and are equipped with technology that permits them to avoid people and obstacles without missing a beat.
“Hotel Jen is proud to be the first brand in the Shangri-La Group to introduce this technology,” Cetin Sekercioglu, executive vp of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, said in a press note. “The new ‘colleagues’ will be great team players, allowing us to execute important tasks well and deliver them in Jen’s signature style.”

Robots designed by Savioke, already operating in 70 firms world wide, have accomplished 150,000 autonomous deliveries since their first implementation in 2014.
Jena and Jeno in motion may be seen at: Hotel Jen Orchardgateway AND Tangled Singapore.
