A shopping center within the Philippines currently boasts the world’s largest industrial rooftop photovoltaic installation, generating 2.9 MW of unpolluted energy needed to run the mall’s operations.
To date, the project can be the biggest privately owned and operated solar energy system within the country.
The Filipino developer behind this project, Robinsons Land, plans to put in rooftop solar panels within the remaining shopping malls with a complete capability of 12.5 MW by the top of this yr.
This month, a 2.9 MW photovoltaic array was turned on atop the Robinsons Starmills shopping center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
