AirAsia continues its strong growth because it was recognized as Asia’s leading low-cost airline for the sixth consecutive 12 months within the 2018 Asia and Australasia World Travel Award.
The airline was recognized as best in its category by travel and tourism professionals globally for its commitment to service excellence, ahead of Air India Express, Firefly, GoAir, JetKonnect, JetStar Airways, Lucky Air, Nok Air, Scoot, SpiceJet, Tigerair Taiwan and West Air.
AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the award was in recognition of the low-cost carrier’s continued efforts to set the usual for low-cost air travel within the region.
“We have worked hard to improve the guest experience through greater digitalization, from check-in and boarding, to online shopping, to customer service, while maintaining our unique Asian hospitality,” he said.
AirAsia also won the title of best low-cost airline cabin crew in Asia, beating Air India Express, Firefly, GoAir, JetKonnect, Jetstar Airways, Lucky Air, Nok Air, SpiceJet and West Air.
World Travel Awards is probably the most prestigious, comprehensive and sought-after awards programs in the worldwide and travel industry.
In early July, AirAsia was named Best low-cost airline on the planet for the tenth time in a row on the 2018 Skytrax World Airlines Awards.
