The government of Trinidad and Tobago has challenged the name of the Putrajaya roundabout, using its Facebook page to amplify claims about Queen’s Park Savannah. Located in the middle of Trinidad’s capital, Port-of-Spain, this park can be surrounded by a peripheral road that became one-way within the late Seventies to ease rush-hour traffic.
The park’s 3.3km circumference is definitely barely longer than the Putrajaya Roundabout, but there’s one problem: the Caribbean “road roundabout” looks nothing like a circle. In fact, to finish a whole loop, you will need to make no fewer than five 90-degree turns. It’s not a roundabout in any respect if it is not round, right? Even an American would know that.
