It’s easy to seek out guides to famous attractions. But which latest and newly essential destinations are value visiting now?
To compile the primary annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, TIME magazine solicited nominations in a wide range of categories – including museums, parks, bars, restaurants, theme parks, cruises and hotels – from our editors and correspondents around the globe. like dozens of industry experts.
We then assessed each based on key aspects including quality, originality, innovation, sustainability and impact.
The result’s a listing as diverse because the world it reflects, with 100 entries from six continents and 48 countries – covering every thing from a Texas water park that supports disabled children to a Maldives resort constructing an undersea dwelling to a library in Tianjin, China, it almost as wonderful as reading itself.

Golden Bridge, Ba Na Hills (VIETNAM)
The two massive stone hands emerging from the mountains of central Vietnam may look mossy and cracked like ancient ruins, but do not be fooled: they’re brand latest wire mesh and fiberglass supports for the striking footbridge, which opened in June.
Cau Vang, or “Golden Bridge”, rises 900 meters above sea level within the Ba Na Hills, where it connects the cable automotive station to the favored nearby gardens.
