When you stay at Sumba Hospitality Foundation, you’re greater than only a hotel guest as you empower Sumba’s local youth.
With a robust vision for responsible tourism within the region, Sumba Hospitality Foundation invites guests to remain on the hotel school on campus, which incorporates five beautiful bamboo guest pavilions, cared for by students.
During their stay, visitors are encouraged to interact with students to find out about Sumba or share experiences that will probably be invaluable to them.
Students are chosen annually to take part in an immersive one-year program mentored by industry professionals. The foundation also offers scholarships to promising Sumbanese youth to arrange them for future employment within the hospitality industry.
The school also provides full board, meals and health care to assist eliminate youth malnutrition in Sumba.
Jeffry, one in every of Sumba Hospitality Foundation’s students, worked on his family’s farm before attending school. Together with other 40 students from across Sumba, Jeffry not only acquires skilled skills, but additionally learns English, personal development and permaculture farmingin order that he can share with local communities.
