About 76 percent of people that took part within the survey said they “completely agree” or “somewhat agree” with Srettha’s policy of re-criminalizing the plant, in accordance with a survey conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration.
The survey was conducted by telephone from Tuesday to Wednesday amongst 1,310 Thai residents aged 18 and over. Some 23.4 percent disagreed with the move, while 0.9 percent declined to reply or said they weren’t concerned concerning the issue.
The poll found that about 75 percent of respondents supported limited use of cannabis for medical reasons, and 19 percent said the federal government shouldn’t implement any policies supporting using the plant.
Nearly 8,000 dispensaries and numerous consumer agribusinesses have sprung up across Thailand, selling every thing from cannabis buds to grease extracts and sweets infused with the plant’s energetic chemicals.
