Human Interests

This Southeast Asian talent is a “human calculator”!

When 15-year-old Yaashwin Sarawanan walked onto the Asia’s Got Talent stage with only a basic calculator, the judges probably wondered what his special skills is perhaps, the New Straits Times reported.

Judge David Foster even asked bluntly: “I don’t see any props here. What’s your talent?”

The boy from Kuala Lumpur confidently replied that he was a “human calculator” and was there to do some quick mental calculations.

This brought loud applause from Yaashwin’s audience.

But they have not seen anything yet.

Yaashwin began by handing Foster a calculator and asking him to ask difficult math questions, which Yaashwin answered almost immediately and accurately.

Easily solving random and complicated multiplication and division problems in a matter of seconds, Yasshwin amazed the judges and drove the audience crazy.

At one point, the boy even managed to defeat the calculator Foster was using to pinpoint the right answer.

Before he began demonstrating his talent, Yasshwin told the judges that he got here to the show to prove that math is fun and simple.

He actually proved it and received three “yes” from the judges, which qualified him for the subsequent round of the talent show – which caused a standing ovation.

The YouTube video of Yaashwin’s interrogation garnered an astonishing 724,000 views in only two days. That’s a number the talented young man would definitely be glad with.
