Move over, Hello Kitty.
Pusheen, the chubby, gray tabby cat often seen in stuffed animal or emoji form, will soon tackle a more three-dimensional shape.
Pop-up cafe Pusheen is scheduled to open in Singapore in January 2019.
Belton is handling the café’s furnishings, and food Instagrammer Little Miss Bento is collaborating on a Pusheen-inspired menu that features entrees (Pusheen’s gray rice sleeping on vegetables), sweets (Pusheen’s macaroons, muffins, cookies and cakes) and drinks (lattes and hot cocoa with Pusheen’s face, a number of pink drinks with foam clouds on top).
What else to expect? Lots of pastels, balloons, a number of hashtags and a few treats that appear positively designed to get you Instagram famous. For example, a Pusheen-shaped ball that opens to disclose the sweets inside once you “melt” it in a drop of frothed milk – way more fun than finding a prize at the underside of a cereal box.

In addition to sweets and surprises, the pop-up may also include a store with Pusheen merchandise that can not be found anywhere else. There isn’t any specific end date for the pop-up, however the management team estimates it’s going to close “sometime in March.”
There’s one thing that will not occur though? Cats.
However, for those who cannot go to Singapore, do not be discouraged.
Belton’s Pusheen empire has expanded with the addition of the book “I Am Pusheen the Cat,” which incorporates inside information in regards to the cat (her birthday is February 18, making her an Aquarius), in addition to coloring books, clothing, homewares, stickers , blankets and more.
