This Southeast Asian star is officially getting a standalone Star Trek series

The rumors were true: Michelle Yeoh would have her own Star Trek spinoff show.

CBS All Access has confirmed that Yeoh will star in a brand new live-streamed series that details her character Captain Georgiou’s role within the mysterious Starfleet Section 31, which plays a very important role in Discoverysecond season.

Rumors of this project in development first surfaced in November, a number of months after CBS All Access released its next Star Trek: Discovery a scene showing Terran Mirror Georgiou accepting a position in Starfleet’s Section 31 division. The recent series will tell the following chapter of Mirror Georgiou’s story and can feature the “Black Ops” theme.

No premiere date has been set for the exciting spinoff, but we do know that Yeoh’s Georgiou will return for the show’s second season Discovery. Therefore, we may not see her solo adventures until the tip of Season 2.

There isn’t any title for the drama yet, but “Star Trek: Black Ops” seems as fitting a reputation as any given what is thought about Section 31. The organization’s overall motto is to guard the interests of the Federation, even when it means violating traditional ethics and Federation methods. The existence of Section 31 is usually a secret known only to a number of outside its ranks, and its agents answer to nobody.

Georgiou might be less concerned about keeping the peace within the Galaxy, but working with Section 31 has taken her away from the Klingon bar and back into a task where she will do greater than just “serve drinks.”

As previously mentioned, Michelle Yeoh has been confirmed to reprise her role as Mirror Georgiou within the show’s second season Star Trek: Discovery. Of course, she is officially known inside Starfleet as Phillipa Georgiou, which helped exonerate Michael Burnham for her role in the previous captain’s death. Georgiou is more prone to perform next Discovery will give viewers a taste of what is to are available her own series, so interested parties should keep an especially close eye on what she’s doing.
