Indonesia is taking the tourism industry to a brand new level. Literally

Indonesia is home to a big selection of gorgeous landscapes. Indonesia, situated within the “Ring of Fire”, is blessed with a ridge of volcanoes and towering mountains which have risen from the depths over thousands and thousands of years. Today we are able to admire wonderful panoramas of those mountains.

A brand recent hotel has opened on the steep slopes of Mount Parang in Purwakarta, West Java, taking the tourism industry to recent heights. Literally. Photos of this recent “hanging hotel” have been circulating on Indonesian social media for several days.

The hotel is situated in the world of Mount Parang, a preferred climbing spot in West Java. Reaching the lodge is an adventure in itself, and guests must first face the challenge of climbing via ferrata, which suggests “iron steps” in Italian, is a protected climbing route stretching for 500 meters on 60-degree terrain. Guests then proceed their journey along the Tyrolean traverse until they finally reach the cottage.

Dhanni Daelami, a climbing enthusiast and operator of the Mount Parang tourist area, said all facilities at Skylodge Padjajaran Anyar, because the hanging hotel known as, meet international standards.

He said it costs 4 million rupees ($295.55) to remain overnight in a 15-square-meter suspended cabin. The cottage can accommodate as much as five adults and is fully equipped, including a rest room and kitchenette.

The “Hanging Hotel” is the primary of its kind in Asia, but could be very much like (and doubtless inspired by) the “Skylodge” in Cusco, Peru. It resembles a hotel room, with a bedroom that sleeps three people, a dry toilet and a small living space. It is even equipped with air con, electricity and a kettle!
