From Peranakan tiles to batik wallpapers, almost every fixture at Grab’s regional headquarters reflects the heritage of tens of millions of shoppers and driver-partners across Southeast Asia.
According to ABS-CBN News, Grab’s foremost office occupies two floors of the Marina One complex, a couple of blocks from the Marina Bay Sands and Merlion casino hotel.
This week, the shipping company announced plans to expand into mobile payments and food and grocery delivery. It employs 3,000 employees throughout the region.
The report lists all of the Southeast Asian devices and colours that could be seen in all places within the office space:
1. Traditional Singapore Peranakan tiles with intricate patterns are utilized in office pantries.

2. This room, a tribute to Singapore’s shops, serves as a reception area for guests.

3. Some meeting rooms are decorated with wallpapers inspired by batik, a conventional Malaysian textile.

4. The conference rooms are named after cities in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and cities in Singapore.

5. There is a green running path running through your entire office space, which inspires employees to remain fit even during working hours.

6. This gym overlooks the bay.

7. Grab’s open office layout encourages collaboration, but there are unique phone booths for making private and necessary calls.
