They are often known as “masters of disguise” because of their incredible ability to camouflage themselves of their surroundings.
And now an avid diver has recorded a video of the rare anglerfish in motion. Incredible video shows a monkfish moving along the seabed within the waters of Lembeh in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The frog, described as a “fish with legs”, was filmed by Atsushi Sadai, 59, a business design consultant from Sulawesi, Indonesia. Sadai captured the determined little fish on camera because it crawled across the seabed on what looked like paws.
Frogs are a sort of anglerfish that could be found everywhere in the world. The fish do not need scales, as an alternative having a textured exterior that helps them camouflage and conceal from predators.
Frogs vary in color and infrequently have unique spines or bumps that change with their surroundings.
With a mouth that may enlarge as much as 12 times its resting size, the anglerfish can catch a wide selection of prey, including other fish and crustaceans.

In the video, the anglerfish wanders along the ocean floor since the species doesn’t have a swim bladder. This implies that they use modified pectoral fins to walk and even gallop on the seafloor.
Over the past 20 years, Mr. Sadai has accomplished over 1,000 dives in locations world wide. He said: “Even though anglerfish are rare, I actually have seen them before, but I actually have never seen them go like this.
“I was amazed by the night dive in Lembeh, it’s a rich ocean full of different things to see.”
