On Saturday, local authorities said a lady was found dead within the stomach of a snake that had swallowed her whole in central Indonesia.
45-year-old Farida’s husband and residents of Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province discovered her on Friday inside a reticulated python that measured about five meters (16 feet).
The mother of 4 children went missing on Thursday evening and didn’t return home, which forced her to go looking for her, said village head Suardi Rosi.
Her husband “found her things… which made him suspicious. Residents then searched the realm. They soon noticed a python with a big belly,” Suardi said.
“They agreed to chop open the python’s belly. As soon as they did so, Farida’s head was immediately visible.
Inside the snake, Farida was found fully clothed.
Such incidents are considered extremely rare, but lately several people in Indonesia have died after being swallowed whole by pythons.
Last yr, residents of Tinanggea district in southeast Sulawesi killed an eight-meter python that was choking and devouring one in all the farmers within the village.
In 2018, the body of a 54-year-old woman was present in a seven-meter long python in the town of Muna in southeast Sulawesi.
A yr earlier, a farmer from West Sulawesi went missing and was found eaten alive by a four-meter python on a palm oil plantation.
