A preferred destination for local and foreign tourists, a few of Southeast Asia’s best cities have been voted one in every of the highest 15 cities on this planet by readers of the influential travel magazine Travel + recreation.

The T+L website recommends Chiang Mai since it is home to “a few of Thailand’s biggest cultural treasures” and boasts a “more relaxed atmosphere than Bangkok.”
The magazine also recommends that visitors can admire “traditional crafts on the Bo Sang Umbrella Factory” and “wander away within the magic of the Night Bazaar.” These are only a few of the attractions which have earned town a lot of Thailand’s tourism awards.
In seventh place is Hoi An in Vietnam, while in ninth and tenth place are Ubud in Indonesia and Luang Prabang in Laos. Siem Reap in Cambodia closes the rating in thirteenth place.
These winning cities shared common characteristics: being pedestrian-friendly, having large green spaces nearby, and boasting a wealthy history that’s preserved as town grows and develops.
T+L readers also rated the cities on their web sites and native monuments, culture, cuisine, friendliness of individuals, shopping opportunities and overall tourist value.
The result is predicated on the opinion of greater than 300,000 international T+L readers who were asked to rate the “better of the perfect” in international travel and destinations and participate within the globally respected Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards competition.
